(Senior) Account Manager - Europe

As Senior Account Manager Europe, you’ll play a key role in turning that vision into reality. You’ll contribute to our mission by building trusted relationships with new and existing German- and English-speaking customers, guiding them from first engagement through successful adoption, and helping organisations introduce OpenProject as a sustainable, open source alternative.

• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with potential clients, with a focus on German-speaking customers by identifying and tailoring solutions to their individual needs, making sure they receive a timely response and suggesting best practices to them.   

• Conduct demo sessions for OpenProject prospects (in person and remote) and clients based on customer needs.

• Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs.

• Lead and accomplish Proof of Concepts to successfully introduce OpenProject at large organisations, managing stakeholder interactions and providing training and consulting support.

• Represent our team at conferences, connecting with clients and partners and presenting OpenProject, delivering talks, taking part in podcasts or other interviews.

• Collaborate with our partners to deliver the best solutions for new customers.

• Work hands-on where needed, while also thinking systemically about how your work fits into the bigger picture.

• Communicate clearly and proactively in a remote-first environment, adapting your message to different audiences and contexts.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Customer Support, Product, Engineering and Marketing to ensure shared understanding and coordinated execution.   

• Bring in your own approaches, insights, and lessons learned from previous roles and experiences.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Strong written communication skills and fluency in German (native level) and English (our business language). French or Spanish is a plus, but not required

• Proven experience in sales or customer success, with a track record of delivering meaningful outcomes   

• Effective communication and active listening skills to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation, including executive and C-level. 

• A strong technical and product understanding, caring deeply about why and for whom the work is done   

• The ability to collaborate confidently with specialists and stakeholders across disciplines.

• A genuine care about providing exceptional service to clients and users.

• Curiosity, openness to experimentation, and a willingness to engage in thoughtful - sometimes passionate - discussions with peers.

• Passion for Open Source.

• Experience working in a remote-first environment, with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility.

• Familiarity with OpenProject or Jira (as a plus, not required).
